Telluride Bluegrass Festival
Four days of rousing bluegrass-based music in town park. Past artists include Alison Krauss, Earl Scruggs, Bela Fleck, Sam Bush, Yonder Mountain String Band and many more.
The 35th Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival is June 19-22, 2008 which coincides with the Summer Solstice and the days surrounding the full moon; the longest day of the year; the beginning of summer. It's a magical time of sun and light, when the the high country of Colorado puts away its skis and grabs hiking boots, kayaks, and a low-back festival chair to take in "Bluegrass."
The festival stage will offer a unique lineup of only-in-Telluride performances. Beloved Festival veterans, inspiring new talent, and once in a lifetime collaborations. The Telluride royalty of virtuosic bluegrass super pickers, soulful songwriters, and some of the biggest stars in the Americana landscape.
The initial 2008 lineup includes: Ryan Adams & The Cardinals, Ani DiFranco Band, Arlo Guthrie, Del McCoury Band, Uncle Earl, Cadillac Sky, Darrell Scott, Leftover Salmon, Ricky Skaggs & Bruce Hornsby with Kentucky Thunder, Paolo Nutini, Tim O'Brien, Peter Rowan & the Free Mexican Airforce, The Emmitt Nershi Band, Bela Fleck, Duos with Friends, Spring Creek Bluegrass Band, The Frames, Sam Bush Band, Brett Dennen, Yonder Mountain String Band, Jerry Douglas Band, Tift Merritt, Steep Canyon Rangers, Telluride House Band featuring Sam, Bela, Jerry, Edgar & Bryan, The Swell Season: Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova from the film Once, Hot Rize with Red Knuckles & the Trailblazers, John Cowan & Darrell Scott Band, Punch Brothers featuring Chris Thile, The Duhks, and Solomon Burke
